Kit
Hi Do I need to be worried as one of my 12 month old pepperpots laid a teeny tiny egg today, one which was 10 times as dark as her normal eggs? Also since we were away in May she is only laying occasionally compared to daily. Thanks All Kit
Egluntyne
Has she been wormed recently? Have you done a health check and examined her for signs of lice and her housing for mites? Is she having layers pellets as the bulk of her diet and not too much in the way of treats?
Kit
Hi She was wormed after coming back from chicken camp although I am not sure whether I did it right...I put some flubenvet on half a grape and did it that way. How many days should I have done this for? Yes no mites in house as eglu gets dismantled and jet washed every 10days or so. Not sure about the mites will check tomorrow and they free range all day every day with only pellets and whatever else it is that they find to eat. They only get some grapes or meal worms at night to bribe them back in. Kit
Cooks
if you use the half a grape method they are given half a grape with flubenvet on it for 7 days. I hope this helps.

poachedegg
They are called wind eggs and are yolkless - one of ours went through a phase of them and is fine now.
