xScrunchee
Maybe give the vet a ring in the morning just to make sure that she hasn't broken something. Hopefully it's just a sprain but best to get it checked
no1smiles2000
You really think it could be? would the vet be able to do anything?
Egluntyne
I would pick her up and examine the affected limb carefully. Any swelling, heat, redness, grating bone, or other obvious signs of a break? If yes, then she needs to see a vet. If not I'd isolate her by putting her in a cat carrying case or similar, with water and pellets on hand, so that she rests the limb for a couple of days. Keep her in sight of the others though, so they don't forget eachther. If you leave her running with the others, she will try to keep up with them, which will aggravate the injury. A few days rest will help settle it. A bit of extra calcium can help. It can often take as long as three weeks to get over a nasty sprain. no1smiles2000
she seems quite happy sitting in the garden, she isnt trying to do much i've been lifting her in and out of the cube etc she isnt trying to copy the others and has little naps! bless her I've held her etc she doesnt mind me touching it no swelling or anything so i think its just bruised. poor thing i'll keep an eye on her if it gets worse or no improvement then i'll call a vet thanks
Egluntyne
Arnica pillules 30c three times a day are often recommended for bruising.
no1smiles2000
oh thanks, where will i get that from? a vet or pet shop?
smanners
You can buy Arnica cream and tablets from health food shops and Chemists. Boots definately have it as I bought some for my dad recently ( he had a fall and had a bruised shoulder)......Good stuff it worked a treat. My hen had the same.....she limped for about 5 days and it just righted itself after that Fingers crossed for you

legend21
Hi, you rub it into the area that is bruised jackie
smanners
I didn't actually need any tablets for my hen but I know they are very tiny tabs so you could just stick one in half a grape. If they are like my hens it won't even touch the sides You can also get Arnica cream for surface bruising but I think the pills are more effective for deeper bruising They are about £4- £5 as I remember Good luck
