Just doing my last lot of research before buying. Holidays will be a bit of a problem as you can not access our garden from the side, I have a neighbour who has chickens and will look after them, but it would be a pain for her to keep coming through the house so I would like to transport them across the road. I like wooden coops as well as the eglu but the eglu is coming out on top for ease of transportation. Any comments gratefully received!

Thank you

We have just move ours 20 mins down the road and back for a holiday, and it was not tricky at all. Does come apart quite easily, and isn't heavy - especially if only going across the road

The worst bit for us was trying to fit the run bits into our car - if somebody had had a video camera handy it would have been a hit on the internet!!

It can be dismantled and put in a car, see the list of 'cars we have used' to see what it will fit in. Dismantling the run is a bit fiddly but quite easy.

If it's literally a case of taking it across the road, you would need to detach the run from the Eglu but then I think two of you could carry it easily without breaking it into separate pieces (light but cumbersome). The Eglu without the roof on is not heavy, that's something one person could carry on their own.

The main advantage with the Eglu is that you can clean it so thoroughly, you're not having to worry about where you're holding it!

I have a spare (green eglu) and I have got it out and put it back in the garage on numerous occasions. The run comes in sections too so again easy to move about

You have to take the base and lid seperate but is is very easy to do :D(and I am only small)

The only problem I have is I have a bit of a weavy gate/garage/path/wall situation going on so I have to be careful to negotiate these bits or else I s"Ooops, word censored!"e my knuckles on the brick wall OOOOWWWWW!!!!
