jlo
Does anyone else have a chook who would much rather mooch around the patio in the hope that there will be treats along any moment, rather than scratch in a really chicken friendly big garden?? The other three come up to the house every so often but Bella is a permanent fixture outside our windows, looking longingly in. I have tried to not give her anything to give her the hint that it would be much better to go off and find tasty grubs but she is having none of it. We will hopefully be fencing off a section in a couple of weeks so she won't have the chance. I am a bit fed up of poo picking on the patio! jos
one of my ex-batts stands by their gate clucking mournfully and peering through the wire if she senses i'm around. I have a feeling, though, if i'm not in sight or sound she goes off and does chickeny things with her mates. But she is always the one who runs fastest back to the gate at the merest hint of the possibility of anyone approaching!
Sara-W
I have the same problem! my head girl Endora sits on the windowsill watching my every move and has now got the other 2 bluebelles interested Their plan is if they wait for long enough I will eventually feel sorry for them and come out to play!! (it usually works ) One of my jobs after closing the cube door at night is to poo pick the windowsill and hose it down!!! teri
my girls generally behave like chickens but have been known to come up to the back door and peck at it until i open it then they just look up at me like five little olivers... honestly all they need is a bowl each... "please mum we want some more!!!"
beverlee
As I live with the chicken equivalent of kevin the teenager I must say i'm a bit jealous. Everytime I go in the garden I get a sharp 'WHAT?! I wasn't doing anything' etc etc' ...a bit of windowsill poo would be pretty welcome... Beverlee
Cooks
my 3 older girls are all mooching about the patio lately, and climbing over my picnic bench in hope of treats and goodies...
