reading instructions says to keep chickens in run for 5 days, before letting out, but will be in WIR so just keep them enclosed in that for 5 days ? then let them in garden is this right

Don't be tempted to let them out...I know I wanted to but they are still getting used to their surroundings...

I let mine out straight away

Let's just say... they discovered how my sister would react when a chicken flew on her head

 

I put then away after that

And actually it wasn't me, my darling father was becoming a pest and begging for them to be let out

I let mine out after a day but they were fine! They knew where they were meant to sleep so all was well

1 more sleep before pick up me chickens,

 

should get WIR finished today

 

hubby is wonderful even when he hands are cut with the wire and sore from hammering,(he has bad arthritis) has grumbeld with making it,only once did i hear all this for bloody chickens

 

he will be smitten when we get them tomorrow

Yup, I can confirm this...my DH who wasn't exactly anti-chickens, was infinitely less keen than me...but is now totally enchanted...and it was his "grand plan" for the WIR, I just complained about a sore back when cleaning the eglu & he even suggested buying the cube....and is constantly asking about Buffie & her Bufflings................they certainly wheedle their way in our hearts in super-quick time !

 

Good luck with your new girls, pics are expected when they arrive............
