4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

My partner came home from work today to find our first egg,we are not sure which one of my pretty girls it was but they all got some treats.

they had started squatting a few days ago but we didnt think it would be this soon.

He found it in the nesting box in a perfectly formed dug out nest.

I'm really chuffed and he admitted to giving a little whoop when he found it.

Do they tend to be quite small to start with? is there anything other than layers pellets that is good to give them? we have been looking at the organic chicken feed on omlet as it says its got all the vits and minerals and it helps with good egg production.does laying make the chickens a bit more docile? I thought it might be one of the sussexs that laid as olive has been letting us stroke her today and she never has before.

Yes, the eggs are quite small to start with but will get bigger, keep them on the layers pellets and not too many treats or they may stop laying

Just been out to take the girls some pomegranate seeds and flora is in the nesting box making egg laying noises,I think we may get another egg today,i've just woken OH up to tell him lol he wasnt impressed as he didnt get in until 3.30 from playing at a gig.

i'm so excited I carnt wait to go and check when she comes out.if there is an egg we can have one each for breki
