Peanut laid a lash

Recommended Posts

This morning we "lost" Peanut and found her in the (cube lilac) nest box - where I've never seen her go before, cheeky monkey!!

When we got back from dropping DD at Gymnastics, she launched herself down the ladder & pootled around the WIR. I checked the NB to see if she'd been busy, or just testing the other chooks house for comfort & discovered a lash, 2 soggy membranes and a puddle of egg white :vom: .

From what I remember, a lash isn't anything to worry too much about, but as she's a battie is probably getting towards the end of her laying life I thought I'd just check. I've not found a lash since I first got them back at the and of January & never one this big...want a piccy?

my old girl laid about 3 mini ones only the other day. Was once a near constant softee layer(started fine) but have not seen an egg from her ooooo since maybe October!

We get some hunching and then little like yolky(wet scambbled egg looking poohs & then she is off fine again.

Hope daily that this is ok & good newds for her.!

SO THE LASHES WERE A BIT oFA SURPRISE! SOME BITS WERE VERY SMALL! sorry key pad acting uop!)

Thanks for that - I'm eating my breakfast :vom::lol: .

Sorry  , but you managed to resize it thank you  Breakfast gets eaten later in the holidays doesn't it, I was eating mine when your message dropped into my inbox  !!

not to be picky or anything. :D

but where is the 20p oiece or a finger?

looks little.....

they are gross aren't they and with differenig textures.

some meat like, some folded over & over shell! some seem to look like little blobs of fat! :)

Sorry I didn't think to put a 20p in the nest box but the lash was about the size of my thumb.....yuk yuk yuk!!

I wonder why she chose the (cube lilac) to lay this little selection as to my knowledge she hadn't laid in there before nor since

Sorry Chook n Boo Mum, didn't mean to disturb you. That's the problems with us newbies, we like to spend ages trawling through old posts looking for anything interesting - nuggets of forgotten knowledge, perhaps. It probably won't be the last old post I resurrect, but anything chicken related is good knowledge! What was it about Crocs, anyway?

Sorry Tiggy, I can't remember if she laid again, I think so but not sure for how long ..I do know I found the tiniest little egg in the nestbox one day which I attributed to Pea, it was about the size of a raspberry....that I think was her last egg, bless little heart :anxious:

Crocs.........would that be the Omleteer footwear of choice, in any shade & style  , personally I only have the Nadia boots in fuschia, very comfy and washable too
