4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Well, the cube & 2 extensions arrived today (the day we booked) at 2.15pm (after they tried to deliver on Friday )

 

We set about immediately deboxing everything and it looked like all was present It was while we were putting it together we realised the ladder was missing.... but a quick call to Omlet, just catching them before they closed for the night and it's on its way by 1st class mail.

 

By the time we'd built everything and tested it all it was 8.15pm , so we wouldn't have put the hens in tonight anyway. They were watching us in q mesmerised kind of way as we brought various bits down the garden.

 

We've put it on the slabs we had the eglu on (just added 2 more slabs at the end to make it 7x3 60cm slabs. The cube & 2 extensions fits the length of the slabs exactly (about 5mm slab showing beyond the skirt at each end & about 100mm max on each side .

 

We did take some pictures but the lack of light made it look like night time.

 

We're EXTREMELY pleased with the product. The design is excellent and ingenious. We love our eglu, but the cube is just something else. It's got a great new size door as well, which means we only have to crouch to get inside

 

The girls will have to wait till Wednesday for their intro, but we're sure they'll love it.

we've got a cube plus 2 extensions and I think it is just fabulous. We have high perches going across the cube in the middle extension, while the bit near the door is clear for superglugs etc. And altho it's long, it can be moved with an assistant. If you haven't got a cover arrangement yet, there are some threads about it on here. We got a tarpaflex that fits the run almost exactly.

Ho hum!! . Still no ladder! However, we don't think this is Omlet's fault. Our postal service is notorious a 1st class letter taking up to 5 days to get from one place to another within the district

Thanks laurmurf. We have tarps already. We bought a stock of 5 of them some time back at some ridiculous price from tarpaflex. We have one folded over part of the eglu run.

 

Our neighbours have been quick to ask what we're doing with the eglu, but we wouldn't part with it.

 

We plan to get the newbies on 3 October when Mary says her new stock will be ready. We're taking a colleague and her husband from Feathers' workplace. They're just finishing their new run after the fox demolished their previous chickens.

Well, contct with Omlet today has clarified the situation. Apparently there have been problems with the ladders (to do with mouldings) and they didn't arrive with the cubes. Omlet have been waiting for them to arrive to send out. We have been assured that one will be put in the post today.

 

At least it's given us time to wash off the corrugated perspex on the eglu run to then put it over the roof of the cube run. All will be finished & readytoday.
