teri Posted August 14, 2009 Share Posted August 14, 2009 For those of you who have met beauty you will know that she is my broody silkie. she went broody...i got some eggs...they all failed ...she was still broody ...i got some more eggs...seven hatched ...they are ten weeks old......beauty still an attentive mum driving chicks mad!...chicks are free ranging with the big girls...beauty walking round pacing up and down clucking anxiously....chicks ignoring her....chicks and big girls intergration success!!...beauty not happy...still pacing...beauty returns to main coop while big girls are out...beauty finds three fresh eggs... beauty hasn't come out for nearly an hour!!!!! She was determined to stay with them for as long as possible and I only managed to break her by making them sleep separately for a few nights at eight weeks.
