The Rivetts
We have had our 2 speckledy ladies for a week now. They are now 27 weeks old, and seem to be fine- eating & drinking well, busy when free-ranging [though lazy as heck when in the run!] One of the ladies has a little diarrhoea, but only now & then. As the pelvic bones are open, the lady we got the from [recommended to us by another owner] thought that they were ready to lay. We expected a short delay from the stress of moving house, but several people have now told us that we should not expect eggs until February! Can this be true? Snowy
I only got mine today, from 2 seperate suppliers. Both suppliers said not to expect eggs until spring! Although mine are only about 20 weeks, not sure how much difference that makes!
The Rivetts
Thanks Snowy, None of the literature when I was deciding to buy said that winter meant no eggs! Wish I'd known, then at least I could have adjusted my eggspectations. At least I'm not alone.
