Raina
Hi all, I'm not sure if a cat or a fox has been visiting the chickens. I found some white crusty poo by the girls coop a few days ago and the other day i found some muddy paw prints on the eglu,I'm pretty sure it wasn't one of our dogs paw prints,They were a little bigger than our border terriers but smaller than our Bedlingtons (The others have big paws) I have heard a fox call about 1 month ago (it sounded like a woman screaming ) So what do you think? Cat or Fox? Edited August 17, 2009 by Guest
sjp
fox poo is small and black and has a distinctive smell I'd say cat or dog cats normally bury it in soft dirt the flower bed is the preferred location the paw prints might be a cat used to have one by us that walked over before it would walk around most the cars had paw prints on them
Gamebird
Fox poo can varydepending on what they eat. If they have been eating bones can make the poo have a chalky appearance. This is a fox print
Olly
Fox, I'd guess - as per Gamebird's helpful pic above, if you can draw an X across the print without touching any of the pads, it's a fox. Cats usually bury their poo, foxes happily leave it in the open as a marker.
