Feeling pleased but need advice now, thank you.

I've spent the time paving my walk in run over the last few weeks. I've dug out a lot of wet mud, poo and Easibed and placed it in the raised bed which is empty ready for next year. I am four paving slabs off finishing but it was dinner time and I felt hungry so I've left it until tomorrow.

The run is 18 long x 3 paving slabs and a bit wide so there's about 40cm of earth at the top of the run tapering down to 0cm at the end. As I have no means to cut the slabs what should I fill the sides in with? I've thought about cobble stones, rubber chips and slate. It will go straight on top of the earth.

The plan is to put down Easibed on the paving slabs, replace it every month and wash down the run. So whatever is down the side needs to be free draining. Any thoughts?

My run is not sqaure either and like you I have one side with is shaped on the slant.

I have slabbed as much as I can and left the gap as bare earth. My run has a roof (which I assume yours does too if you are going to be using horse bedding) and I use Aubiose straight onto the bare earth. The girls use the strip of earth to have a dig and use as a mini dust bath :D I hose my run out on hot clean out days and it dries up relativley quickly.

I would think the pea gravel would get kicked about and then mixed in with the bedding so if you are using the bedding for compost etc you would be adding stones to it which is something most people try to avoid.
