4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi

Our cube is arriving next week and we have had a good look around at various hybrid hens. We have narrowed it down to Isa browns or Columbian Black Tails but can't decide between them. Any ideas?

ISA Warrens are fab girls, very friendly, easy to tame, good layers, fab personalities but I love my Donna, so I am a little biased

I have one of each. Both are very friendly, hardy and good reliable layers The Isa brown is slightly bigger and the Columbian Black tail who is quite petite.I think it is down to preference really and whether you like ginger with some black or ginger and white.

I've got a Columbian black tail she’s a bostin looking girl great temperament most of the time always active she's not the cleverest one of the flock but catches on eventually lays a good sized egg but does lay double yolkers worth considering.

you could have one of each they are both from the same type of cross though

We'd go for the Warrens/ISA Browns. They're very friendly, they get on well together, and because they've white tips to their tails you can find them in the long grass....

They're also great layers..........

Why not get some of each? A mixed flock looks lovely - plus so much more easy to tell them apart even at a distance.

hi i have 5 ISA and 3 columbian black tails and they get on brilliantly and like a previous reply they are easier to tell apart good luck in what ever you decide

I have 1 Isa Brown and 1 Columbian Blacktail, they are both pretty friendly and easy to handle, the Isa is possibly a bit more friendly but there isn't much in it.

Don’t regard west brom as black country. technically I 'm south staffs born before boundary changes

Never was until there was money in it when the old Black Country development mob were formed it certainly wasn't when I was born it only reached up to Dudley and a lot of towns suddenly started calling themselves black country
