4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

I've been leaving the coop door open for the summer months so that the girls could get up and have an early breakfast. Maybe five times over the summer we have been woken to my blue pekin, Doris, bokking her head off in an alarm call. Once she sees you at a window, she stops and settles down. I figured that something must be strolling through the garden at that time of the morning to set her off, but we've never seen anything...until this morning! The children came bursting into the bedroom at 6.30 to tell us that there was a hedgehog in the paddling pool! Poor thing must have gone in to get a drink, and couldn't climb the slippery sides to get back out. I collapsed one side of the pool, and predictably the hedgehog did his/her very best conker impression We retreated to the kitchen to watch, and a few minutes later it uncurled and sauntered out of the pool. Doris clocked it at this point, and set up bokking So at last we know who our early morning visitor has been

Good to know what's causing the alarm calls . Lucky your kids saw the poor hedgehog - would have been awful if they'd found it drowned .
