My poor dog!!

Recommended Posts

I have two dogs - a Lhasa Apso and a labrador puppy (though I feel a 'who's the daddy test' may need doing for her!)

My Lhasa is two years old and smaller then the chickens. Well, the chickens were free ranging in the garden when I let the dogs out. Poor Mika (the Lhasa) only has to walk into the garden when one of the hens is on her, having a real go at beak-wooping her! Poor little thing. I can't very well tell a chicken off - they don't listen! But how could I stop it? The labrador has the right idea, and tries to herd them ino submission!

Oh no! Poor dog! Maybe a water pistol on the hen when she tries to attack, or a bit of netting to keep them apart until they are more used to each other. Hens just want to assert their authority over everyone and everything, so your poor dog is an easy target if he doesn't back down or stand and fight. She will settle down in time. :D
