miss_pink519 Posted August 27, 2009 Share Posted August 27, 2009 i first heard cheeping from 1 egg on day 17. the egg pipped on day 19 and hatched 5am day 21. Still had no movement from other 11 eggs. I left the chick in the incubator for 28hours hoping his cheeps would start the other off but no luck. candled the eggs when i took t chick out n it looked like there were def 3 maybe more babies. left them till day 23 n there was stil no noise or movement so decided to give up on them. I decided to open the 3 eggs I know ther were babies in t c if I could find out what went wrong. All 3 were dead but full formed and same size as the 1 that hatched. They had not yet started absobin the yolk sac so maybe this was the reason? But if it is why wouldnt they hav absorbed it? any help wd be much appreciated. im writing this with the surviver sleeping in my hand-he was too cold under the brooder on his own so has had to come in the house lol thanks x-x-x-x-x Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Raina Posted August 27, 2009 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Hi, It could be a number of things, I was hatching 6 Serama Bantam egg, 2 ended up making it till the day before they were due to hatch, i think one died on day 18 and the other died on day 20 (should have hatched day 19) Congrats on your new little chick though Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
