so i thought i can do no more( i return home in two days time)

i've just have a phone call from one of my chicken sitting friends to tell me when they arrived to sort out the girls today i had a card from the Environmental Health someone has complained to them about the smell and the noise ??????? what smell????? ok a bit of noise when they lay an egg but nothing too bad????we don't even let them out of thier eglu until about 8 in the morning?

the neighbours have never mentioned it to me??? what am i surposed to do now???? will they make me get rid of my two girls???///HELP!!!!! :?::doh:

Has anybody had this sort of experiance? or any comments welcome?

You poor thing, no wonder you're furious :evil: .

I wouldn't panic too much yet. This has happened to others on the forum and, from memory, the Inspectors come out, agree that the neighbours are making a fuss about nothing and tell you to keep things as clean and hygienic as you obviously are doing!

I'm not sure if you can find out who complained but it might be worth asking. You want to find out exactly how they deem the smell and noise to be unacceptable :? .

I'm pretty sure you won't be asked to get rid of your girls if you can prove you are taking reasonable precautions to keep them clean and quiet.

Relax and enjoy the rest of your holiday :) .

First - don't panic!

Environmental Health have to investigate any complaints, but they rarely follow them up!

Obviously someone has complained - that is the most annoying thing, but contact the EHO, invite them round to see your sparkling eglu and fragrant girls. If they have any concerns the first thing they will do is give you advice on what to do to improve things. However, I think that they will be more than happy with your set up and you will hear no more about it. :D
