sootem
Can anyone recommend a good supplier of hatching eggs please - I would like either Brahmas, Silkies or Cream Legbars but I'm also interested in other breeds. Thank you Susanx
Redwing
Wiltshire Chickens supply hatching eggs, their birds are lovely and healthy and they offer cream Legbar eggs Pear Tree Farm Poultry do Silkie eggs and Cream Legbar eggs and their birds are happy health and free range extensively (when not in breeding pens) I have just ahd Silkie chicks hatch from their eggs and they are lovely little things Of course neither of these are anywhere near you so you would need to see if they send eggs Sending eggs an affect the hatch rate so if you can get them locally it may be a better bet but you should get at least some chicks from posted eggs You could also try a wanted ad on the Practical Poultry forum
Tulip
We got our cream legbar eggs from www.chickenandchicks.co.uk. They're based in Kent, so nowhere near you either but they do send them out - and the packaging looks v robust. We collected ours from them and hatched four out of five CL eggs (the broody and I managed to drop the sixth early on)
Lewis
I got 6 Cream Crested Legbar hatching eggs from Wiltshire chickens. I was pleased with the packaging, communication and we ended up with 1 cockerel and 3 girls
