karlotta
My Opr, Sussex and Barnvelder babies are 5 weeks tomorrow. The couple of books I have seem to suggest gradually changing onto growers anywhere from 5 to 8 weeks... As my babies (especially the orps) are slow maturing should I leave them on Chick crumb longer or is it just down to when they can physically manage the pellets? They are getting huge so i'm sure that wouldn't be a problem!! Any advice much appreciated!
Redwing
As long as they are getting growers after 8 weeks I would honestly go by when a) you think they can manage bigger pellets and b) go by what stock of chick crumb you have left Always transfer food types gradually by mixing the old in with the new so get the growers in before the crumb is all gone You can always o backwards if in doubt
