Pears

so, along with my carrier bag full of apples :D , I now have the same amount of pears :D

 

the lady next door said " ugh, I dont like pears, do you want some, here ill come and help you fill a carrier bag up, when you have used those, then come and ge the rest" :shock:, what a waste of a fruit tree.

 

so, what the heck do I do with a stone and a half of pears :shock::shock: (and one stone 4 lbs of apples) :shock::shock:

 

apple and pear crumble (94 times) anyone :lol::lol:

I am in the process of making Pear Chutney :D

 

14 preas (peeled and chopped)

2 cooking apples (peeled and chopped)

1lb/450g onions (peeled and chopped)

1lb/450g seedless raisins

1tsp hot chilli powder

1 tsp ground ginger

1 garlic clove (crushed)

1 tsp salt

juice and rind of 2 lemons

1lb/450g brown sugar

2 1/2 cups/570ml white distilled vinegar

sprinkle of nutmeg

 

shove everything into the largest pan you have (I had to use kevs curry making pan, cos my biggest pan was tooo small :shock: )

stir it up well

bring to the boil, siring well at intervals

reduce to a simmer until the mixture is thick consistency

ladle into hot clean sterilised jars, cover and seal well.

 

hopefully it tastes nice :lol:

(thats one part of the hamper sorted :D )
