snowyandfriends
Hello. I have a definite mite problem in 2 of our 9 hens, despite dusting, and I suspect they have bad mites because I think they have coccidiosis. The rest are fine, and those old enough are laying beautiful eggs. Does anyone know how long we would have to withdraw eggs after treatment with 'Coxoid'? Hopefully, Cec
xScrunchee
I'm sorry but I have no idea. I hope that someone will be able to advise. Welcome to the forum by the way
The Dogmother
I'm not altogether sure whether Coxoid is a vet med at all. I understand that it's not to be used on meat birds, so it must have some residue effect, hence I guess that you use the standard of 7 days egg withdrawal unless otherwise specified. I will nudge Chucky Mama, who may know of the product.
Chucky Mama
I have a bottle here in front of me. It is a authentic tried and tested veterinary medicine but it whilst used in chickens it is licenced only for use in pigeons. It therefore does not carry a egg withdrawal notification just 'Do Not Use in birds intended for human consumption'. The data sheet states "Use during pregnancy, lactation or lay- As the product is indicated for use only in birds, there is no information applicable to this product". I would guess at 7 days but that is a guess, I would suggest phoning Harkers who make it on 01284 761131
Egluntyne
According to ~this site~ There is a 28 day egg withdrawal. Made by Harkers. Might be worth contacting them directly.
