batcatz
Hi, looks like Hetty and Betty are really Hetty and Dave! - suspect is on left Luckily I can exchange him at the end of the month. I'm hoping I can give them both back so the breeder can sell them as a pair! I'll feel too bad to seperate them as they love each other. Amanda edited link to picture so everyone can see edited again as pic too big eek Edited August 31, 2009 by Guest

madchickenlady
I'd say that he is a Dave, unfortunately Will you get more silkies?

Griffin
Definitely a boy on the left but I'm not 100% certain the one on the right is a girl either, I would've liked to have seen a bigger pompom on her head by now. It's not full and round like it should be. She has a girls comb at the moment, ie it's flat with no bobbley bits, but the hairdo is a worry. batcatz
Thanks everyone! Oh dear I hoped the one on the right was a hen. She is very small compared to Dave. He seems to have grown over the last week though! They were either 14 weeks or 16 weeks when I got them. So they are now 18 or 20 weeks. Not sure as email breeder sent said 14 weeks, but I thought she said they were 16 weeks when I collected them the next day. His wattles grew first, then he grew spikey neck feather, then the crown started to get bigger. He seems to have had a growth spurt! I expect he will crow just before I go on holiday too so I worry about the noise while I am away. haha. Am going to exchange Dave for another silkie at the end of the month. I hope I can exchange both so they can stay together. I was hoping that would make it easier for the breeder to sell a pair, but not if they are both cockerels. eek.
