lozboz Posted September 6, 2009 Share Posted September 6, 2009 I have 3 hens and only one is laying, she has been laying for about 5 weeks now and has started laying one everyday rather than one every other day like started. All 3 are about 24 weeks old now. Is this just a matter of time before they start to lay or should be doing something to help them along? They eat layers pellets with a little mixed corn. I thought at 24 weeks they're still only young girls and nothing to worry about, just needed to check to put mind at ease and look after my girls. Space Chick Posted September 7, 2009 Share Posted September 7, 2009 One of my hybrids was about 30 weeks before she started laying, and out of my pure breeds only 1 has started laying and they are all between 28 and 30 weeks old.
