coco
I usually say hello to the chooks every time I go outside and give them a dandelion leaf or bit of fresh grass. Last night the girls had gone to bed but my black silkie cross came out to see if I had anything for her, I ignored her as I had been in the greenhouse [which is by chickens] and went into the house. She made such a racket I thought that the chooks were being attacked by something and ran back out to them at which point I got an indignant cluck and she went back to bed. There was nothing to be seen. I think I must have an attention seeking chicken. Has anybody else experienced similar behaviour.
Saronne
Yes, I have a Mrs. Pepperpot who regularly creates a racket (like an egg announcement) when she sees me in the kitchen. Everytime I go out there to check, there isn't anything untowards, and no egg has been laid, so I can only guess that she's attention seeking! This might possilby have been my fault as I have given her treats to distract her as I was worried that the neighbours would complain... lozboz
my girls always squak at me when i arrive home in my car or even open the back door, they always come running thinking i have treats, which i do usually have, you would think i never feed them the with the way they shout at me, ha ha. They soon calm down though if the realise i have nothing for them and carry on on their merry way
emmat
I have one that does this! Doris the gingernut goes mental every time she see's our back door open. She creates such a fuss for at least 15 minutes just to let us know she'd quite like some attention. I often have to go down and throw her a few grains to keep her quiet as I worry the neighbours will take against her!
