Fox has shredded my eglu run cover!

Recommended Posts

Thought we had upped security enough to put off Fantastic Mr Fox, but obviously not. This morning in spite of new security lights, extending fences, blocking underneath existing fences all round and installing a fox watch, I have awoken to find the run cover on my eglu run shredded down its entire length (it's less than a year old) and fox foot-trods all over the top of the eglu :evil: Thank goodness however the girls were locked away safely inside and have emerged this morning completely unflustered.

So its war then.... First step to reinforce all the clips on the run with cable ties. Next step....mmm not sure about the next step...Haven't sent my boys out on watering mission yet.. will get them to do that asap.I know human hair tied to the fences is supposed to put them off too...but my hairdresser is just going to think I am soo weird if I ask to take it home with me. Seriously considering electric fencing around the eglu and free ranging area.

Not going to replace with Omlet cover, as imo its a bit too dark anyway and too expensive. Can't get to Ikea for a while, so for now it's going to have to be a clearish plastic shower curtain from Wilko's and bungees which I can pick up at lunch time!! (I'm sure the girls won't mind having the words "bath" or "clean" or whatever over the run for now :D )

I'm disappointed the fox watch hasn't deterred the little darling......it's fitted according to instructions. Anyone have similar experiences/any suggestions.

Thanks
