How do you use Avipro? Is it OK to use with Flubenvet?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have been advised to use Avipro (alongside Citricidal) to clear up some sneezing in my new chickens and wanted to ask how you all administer it?

The dose suggests 1 scoop per 200ml of water, but this seems to be very wasteful when replacing the water (in a glug) every other day.

I have just started a week's course of Flubenvet as a precaution, will the Avipro be OK to use at the same time?

All experience gratefully received!

Normally I use Glugs or gravity drinkers but when using Avipro I tend to use this sort of thing

and put them high enough so things dont get kicked in to them!

I mst admit that I have never tried avipro with more than one or two chooks or one set of chicks, you would need to ensure you refill often enough otherwise as several chickens will drink an awful lot of water in a day

These are also good but again will need close monitoring

Alternatively simply fill up their normal water container to a lower level than normal

Thanks Tasha!

The large galley pots look excellent and I think I will get some of those, whereas the bottle holder looks a little tricky, especially as the ebay pictures seem to show quite a lot of water on the floor!

For the time being, I have just made up one litre of water in the glug and will see how that goes.
