How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

I have finally managed to buy some Eprinex online - after admitting to having 2 jersey cows . I don't (AFAIK) have any unwanted beasties at the moment but I have read that some people use it as a preventative for all unwanted crawling things. When is the best time to dose preventatively? How long does it protect for after dosing?

I dose 4 times a year, two of those times being around now when they start to moult, and then in late january when they start laying again, then two other equally spaced times in the year.
