Angels4
Here in the States baseball is a "Great American Past Time" and if you are lucky enough to catch a foul ball you can keep it as a souvenier.....or not. http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/feat/MLB_Highlights/15594603
Space Chick
Bless her I was at a San Francisco giants game and saw that happen, a woman in her mid 20's caught it and threw it back. The lad who was with her buried his head in his hand in complete embarrassment. Now at football, we have to give the ball back
Valkyrie
Ahhhh. Poor dad. Have you seen the clip of the girl who ran up the wall to catch the almost home run - I think she was a ball girl? We managed to get to 2 baseball games in Toronto (goes with the cuz, naturally) - we were lucky to see the Blue Jays win both times - the first time was when they went on to win the series - I can't remember whether they did it again the following year. I thought we saw them both series, but I am doubting that now. Memory is rubbish. I enjoy the game - we do get it on TV somewhere, but never on Sky Sports, which is a pity. It's always on at some rediculous time (perhaps it's live and so not so rediculous considering the time difference), and then we forget to look. I often have a whinge - by that time the season's over. What's your favourite team (I also have a soft spot for the Cardinals - more birds )
Angels4
Red Sox are my favorite....cause I live in Boston, but I like the Angels as well.
Valkyrie
Ahh, can't say Boston without adding a Beegees song to it! I find baseball a bit like cricket - still lots to learn. But I am amazed at the pitchers who throw the ball so fast that you blink and miss it. Then you hear "STRIKE" whatever and you wonder how that happened because of the sound, you look to see where the ball has been hit - and of course it hasn't! My cuz had a go in the caged area (somewhere in Toronto) with the machine firing at you - I wish I had a go but chickened out - I always hit the ball in rounders, so should have been able to at least touch the ball, but oh pooh. Perhaps next time.
