Snoxy
Hi... Some of you may have read that we have two new girls... Tonight all 5 girls are happily sleeping together...our new girls, Stella and Mildred went to bed first followed by our 3 original girls...no pecking happened...am i being naive...or does this mean our new girls have been accepted now? I am going to rise early tomorrow to check on them. Thank you. Lou
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm in the same boat as you . Couldn't find my new girl Poppy tonight (her friend Penny was already in the pet carrier). Discovered her in with the old girls so I moved Penny in there too. Like you I'll be up early tomorrow . They do behave better at night time when they're drowsy so I'm expecting the same occasional pecks tomorrow!
Snoxy
Thank you for your reply...i'll be thinking of you when i rise The integration has been unbelievably easy so far...can't imagine it will all be hunkydory during the day tom....I may have to keep Stella and Mildred in the Eglu run as they were today and let Cleo, Fifi & Princess Leia (the bully ) freerange as they usually do...I will see how it goes in the morning Princess Leia slept alone last night while the other four slept perfectly happily together....and tonight she didn't even peck our new girls Fingers crossed all goes well for us both tomorrow Lou
Snoxy
Yay...looks like a successful night...our original girls were in the run this morning and our new new girls were still in the Eglu...seemingly unharmed Oldies now freeranging and newbies in the run Lou
Ain't Nobody Here
No signs of a struggle here either . They've all been together in the run for over a week now with a few pecks from Maisie but nothing serious so I'm not too worried about the daytime. Perhaps we've cracked it . Egluntyne
Well done both. The slow and steady method really does pay off.
Snoxy
Yay we both got a good overnight result Unsure whether to let our 2 new girls out to freerange at some point today...not just for the pecking but Stella has already been on the shed roof and luckily didn't go into the garden behind it...where a Jack Russell lives and Mildred jumped over another neighbours fence and they are out until at least 3.30pm. We have put very fine netting over the bushes now so if she jumps up it may deter her but nonetheless...decisions, decisions I'll have a couple of boiled eggs with soldiers and a cappuccino and ponder while I enjoy
