Help.....Pale yellow poo and soft egg

Recommended Posts

When I let Flo out this morning, she didn't want to come out of the cube. She did eventually and then went to the back of the run and just laid down, which is unlike her.

When cleaning up the poo trays this morning I noticed that she had some poos in the night but they were runny and pale yellow and a bit oily I think.

After being out for about an hour she stood up, and looked as though she was straining for an egg, which she did do, but it as a soft one. (she has done a soft one before but not for a few weeks). There was also a wet patch by where she was standing - no colour or poo - just really wet.

She is now at the back of the run, and she keeps closing her eyes as if she is straining.

Her comb is warm and red (well, dark pink, she is only 6 months old). Her legs feel warm, and her body feels warm but not hot.

I offered her some mealworms and some pellets and yoghurt, but she wasn't interested, which is not like her.

Her back end seems to be moving up and down as if she is about to lay another egg. Have tried to look at her vent, but she won't let me, but I did get a quick glimpse, it looked OK.

Help - am v worried - does anyone have any ideas what is up with her??

my little peg who is very friendly was unwell a few weeks back, she moved away from the others and sat on her own under a bush eyes closed and lethrgic she laid a softe and was bright and breezy again. the next time she was miserable for longer, I took her into the porch in the cat box door of cat box not closed and put a blanket over the cat box made it nice and dark, gave her some corn and water and left her, she boc boced at 6am next morning no egg there but being on her own she seemed to pick up, she laid a softie later that day in the run. I think they feel ill and it takes a day to pass.

Thanks for your advice.

I went home at lunchtime, she was a bit brighter and she came out of the run. I gave her some probiotic yoghurt (a tip from an earlier post) and some pellets. She ate it off of the spoon and when I shook the mealworm tin, she followed me up to the run.

Again more lose poo, but not as watery.

I think she may have eaten something when she was free ranging last night, that plus the soft egg probably hasn't helped.

We do worry so don't we. :?

Peg's a lovely name by the way. :)

reading your reply you went home at lunchtime, I now struggle to go away for a weekend as I hate to leave them. They are addictive but great wee pets.

p.s. mine do all the colour of the rainbow poos but if they are bright and breezy I dont worry too much about it.

Hope all goes well for your girl
