sleepymummy
A friend of mine has 3 hens and one of them spends all the time pecking and pulling feathers out of the other 2. One more than the others. She has tried every treatment she can find, has followed all the advice she has been given and it is still going on. She says the infuriating thing is that these 2 are so submissive, they stand and let her do it. Any tips or tricks out there for a persistent abuser! Egluntyne
What treatment has she tried?
sleepymummy
I'm not entirely sure but can find out. She has tried something that makes the feathers purple and the latest thing comes recommeded from various local hen experts as a guarantee to work as it smells so horrendous. Hers seem completely oblivious to it all. I suppose it would help if I had the names of everything she's tried, I just posted as an off the cuff thing! kevtheplumber
Ive had the same problem, tried the purple spray and they ignored it, Palmer has given me some spray that isnt to nice on the nose and they have ignored that, so tonight its bumper bits, should be fun. Perhaps your ladies have no sense of smell or taste kev!! I could still smell that spray two days after you left my house with it! Good luck with the bumper bit fitting. kevtheplumber
same here em that stuff stinks, reminds me of smouldering ash at a festival mixed with antiseptic, to be fair i think they get bored in the run so its a wir this weekend to try and give them some more room
sleepymummy
These hens have a fairly large run and they are allowed to free range around a big garden so surely boredom can't be the issue?!!!! have run out of ideas!
Egluntyne
Sounds like purple spray and Ukadex. I'd advise her to apply bumperbits to them all.
