It's because its a funshade not a summer shade:) A funshade is £11.75, I was looking when I bought the and thought the same as you - but there is a small saving. I notice that you had to search for the funshade, and I certainly couldn't find one in the Eglu Extra's - Spares section (unless it was camouflaged).
