Luvachicken
Can chickens eat the peelings of sweet potato and butternut squash if i cook them or can they eat them raw. Also can they eat the pips ( or whatever they are ) inside the butternut squash ?

JS1
I tried mine on roasted butternut squash skin and they loved it. They ate the seeds too, but less enthusiastically!

Clare L
Mine had the cooked peelings from my mixed veg mash this evening (including butternut and sweet potato) mixed up with a generous scoop of limestone flour, and it was gone almost before I could put the bowl down I did not think about giving them the middle of the butternut... PickleLilli
I also tried our girls on some squash yesterday and they wolfed it down. I also dropped a banana skin on the way to the compost bin and that disappeared too

Donna_0
We were growing a butternut squash plant and had tonnes growing on it. One squash was really big..we started with them pecking away at the small ones, and then they devoured half of the big one! They loved squash it never did them any harm! -Pekin- Fleur -Pekin- Little Pickle & Georgie the cat x
