quickcluck
Just wondering if anyone is going for a nosey round..... I've never been to one, but as it's so close I thought I might take a look
Janty
Too far away from me, I'm afraid. Mind you, hubby is being a saint at the moment...don't want to tip him over the edge.

Nicola O
I'm going..... I went to the last one held in Basildon, but I had a migraine that day (shouldn't really have gone, but I forced myself out) and felt so ill that I came home fairly soon after arriving - so I'm really looking forward to this one. Like you, quickcluck, I am only going for a nosey, I DO NOT NEED MORE CHICKENS.......... though.........there's always room for one or two more......isn't there Nicola
quickcluck
I am a bit confused on how it all works!!!! Might see you there, will be good to put a facet to the name
Nicola O
From what I saw of the last one, the sellers arrive earlier to get set up, the buyers come in to have a good look and at the appointed time the auctioneer starts, people bid and then go home with their new chooks. Might see you there, will be good to put a facet to the name :D I'll wear my dangly chicken earrings - see if you can spot me (though you might get a few funny looks if you're spotted staring at womens ears ) NIcola
quickcluck
Ha will keep my eyes peeled! I will be the one with my hands tied behind my back Is there anything you've got your eye on
Nicola O
I'm not intending to buy anything as I don't really have the room at present. I could move Doris and Dora from the blue eglu into the cube (there's only four in there at the moment) the cube run has two extensions on it so it's a good size, but... three of the four are large Orps., and in the winter they really don't get out to freerange as much so I would not want them to be overcrowded. And, I'm over run with eggs as it is . So, ten chooks are enough....I'm just going to the auction for a nosey....... *chants* I don't need more chooks, I don't need more chooks....... From from there tho Was chatting to the people who had a few lots there, and they just happened to be local, and we went there to choose our own They look 20weeks ish, very little head gear, one much bigger than the other, but very cute, just as we were about to take the Berlin wall down in the WIR....... The others have spent the whole day moaning very loudly
Nicola O
Well done, Quickcluck. But I took Prudence with me, and she reminded me of all the things I said earlier... so I came home empty handad. There was some gorgeous birds there though - the trio's of Partridge Brahma's and Partridge Cochins were really beautiful. Nicola

Plum
Oooh cuckoo marans, they are lovely. Did you have to bid or could you make an offer to the seller? Bet you had loads of fun.
quickcluck
Nope, didn't have to do the bidding thing, spoke to him after and went to collect, he had a lovely flock and they'd all been raised and hatch by his 13yr old son!
