Clur
I think Dilys, the last of our original chooks, might be on her way out. She's lost weight and now her left eye has closed up. I thought she'd got something in it and bathed it in warm tea and it was fine for a couple of days but this afternoon it closed up again. Bathing it, I noticed her comb has lost some colour and she's got some small pinprick black spots at the tips. She's 2.d years old and lost her companion a couple of months ago, and though the intros with the new chooks went well and she's head-hen, I do worry she's found it stressful. I am taking her to the vets next week (she's not appearing to be in pain or discomfort), and adding a supplement to their water but wondered if there's anything else I should be doing for her eye until we can get her to the chook vet? Ain't Nobody Here
Sorry to hear that . Sounds like you're doing the right things. Hope the vet can help .
chelsea
Glad you are taking her to the vets. It's probably just an infection but best to get it treated asap. Let us know how she goes.
