Snowy
There is a definite knack to working on DPNS! Took me a while to figure it out but then it was a bit easier! Keep the two needles you are working on above the other two, so the unused needles are hanging below the ones in use - if that makes sense! ali-s
Socks on ordinary needles? I need that pattern! Emma.x I have a book on sock knitting which has a few patterns using 2 normal knitting needles which I can't find so cannot give you the title I also have these two patterns, I have just about finished a pair of socks using chunky wool. Sirdar crofter chunky sock pattern 9208 Sirdar crofter DK sock pattern 9135 The crofter type yarn is multi coloured and knits up in a fairisle effect. There are several other types of Sirdar yarn you can use if you prefer a plain sock. I am not a confident knitter but have found the chunky sock pattern easy to follow. This site sells the yarn and the patterns http://www.knitandsew.co.uk
craftyhunnypie
Oooo thank you! Well we are back - with 2 more packs of Fontana wool (red/ orange & black/white), tailoring kit & another set of sewing boxes. I bought the last 2 pinky heathers - so my decking rails look lovely now, with the pots hanging off them. Brightens up a dull day. riane
Not much left when I got there yesterday. But, did get some good organiser boxes, so had a good sort out of all my bobbins, reels and bits, very organised now! Also got some circular needles and wool. Thought great I will knit some socks for hubby for Christmas. Looked on youtube and it seemed fairly straight forward. Then spent all evening in a knot! Can't get the hang of it at all.... Ill have another go tonight.
