Ben1994
Hey I have a chicken is losing its feathers near its lobe. I have had it since march and was purchased at 20weeks so I dont think it could be molting. What could it be and how do I stop it. Thanks for your help Edited October 18, 2009 by Guest
Patricia W
It sounds as though it is a moult. Don't worry. I discovered mine had ear lobes when they moulted. Some poultry spice and something like tuna ( in water, not oil or brine) helps them get over it. See what others think too Tricia

cluckingmad
does sound like a mini molt - some of our girls have more obvious lobes than others so it couold be her breed? If there's no evidence of mites or lice and no obvious feather pecking going on then I'd say its a moult - tuna goes down a treat
