Kentwitch
Got our new chickens yesterday. When I let them out today they all came out ok, even negotiated the ladder on the cube. Now one of them has gone back in to the cube and is just sitting in there quietly. She looks bright and altert and when I was tidying the run she came back out again and then went back in. They all seem to be getting on well and there has been no sign of bullying. Is this normal behaviour?
Patricia W
Probably just settling in. Just keep an eye on her but it sounds normal. Make sure you have more than one food and water station if you see any of them being stopped from eating. Tricia

docsquid
Welcome, from one new chicken mum to another! You do wonder if what they are doing is normal, since you have nothing to gauge it by in terms of knowing each individual chicken and how she behaves. It will be lovely to hear how they get on! Chook n Boo Mum
Welcome, from one new chicken mum to another! Pictures? You may be a new chook mum docsquid, but you've got the hang of the forum quick enough I have 4 baby Pekins who use their pootray as a lounge & the nest box as their bedroom, so are in & out all day. Kentwitch
Thanks for your re-assurance. I was panicking for nothing Perhaps she just likes her own space. They have all learnt how to use the ladder and was thrilled that they put theirselves to bed tonight
