janus
My 3 girls prefer the water feeders you put on the ground and just don't get that the big feeder on the side also has water! How did you get yours to use the water dispenser that comes with the cube? Many thanks.
Patricia W
I don't - they couldn't get the hang of it at all. So I opted for the easy life and went back to the glug. Someone may be cleverer than me though and come and tell us both how to do it! Tricia
docsquid
Mine will use it just fine. The first time they looked at it they were very puzzled. However Blodwyn will peck my fingers if I hold them down because she thinks I have food in them. I held my fingers down close to the superGlug and she started pecking, and then I moved them closer to the drinker until she was pecking at that. Once she realised she could get water she forgot my fingers, and the others learned by watching her. They do prefer a bowl, but it does get disgusting within a few minutes of putting it down. I put a bowl down after the superGlug went up and they did drink from it, but pretty soon started to ignore the bowl and just use the super Glug. If you don't have chickens that eat from your hand, it might be more difficult to teach them. Blodwyn is top chicken, so teaching the top chicken might also be best. Lewis
If you take out the bowl of water tomorrow morning, then they come out they'll want a drink straight away, if you tap the superglug with a stick it should attract them to it and they should get used to it. Obviously don't leave them with no glug/bowl if they don't gt the hang of it, but they should after a while
Olly
I agree, prod the drinkers with a stick to make water drip out and that should attract their attention and they'll get the hang of it.
Sheilaz
I just put my Superglug lower down, so they drink from the top, like a bowl.
Tigerfrogg
My only arrived yesterday but the nice man that assembled it just used his fingers to tap the nipple until it got the attention of (Megatron), the omlet guy told me only one chicken has to learn out how to do it as the rest will copy when they see someone getting something they are not. docsquid
Yes, you only need to teach one chicken and the rest will learn from her. Blodwyn learned from me and than the others learned from Blodwyn.
