Margaret
All the talk of flooring has me wondering, In all my smugness have I got it wrong Used to/ still do have rubber chippings in run which I found worked really well but some have dissapeared so i just rake the dry soil around put down Stalosan F and leave them to it. Poo seems to mostly dissapear. Have WIR 12 x 6 with roof so the girlies never get wet, should I put somethjing else down on the floor? Will never be able to move run, but contamination is being mentioned, have I missed something. Many thanks. + WIR Lavender Mabel Posh Marjorie Violet
Plum
I believe the stalosan will kill nasties that grow in contaminated soil under the run bedding but I do believe that neutralising the soil with garden lime every now and then helps keep it sweet. I guess you rake the chippings out of the way. Its good to hear someone has found chippings a positive experience.
Ain't Nobody Here
I agree with Plum. If you're using Stalosan and add some garden lime too, you should be fine. That's what I do (along with Easibed or Hemcore) .
