Muppet81
Hi, Do any of you have a raclette grill and if so, do you actually use it? I once went to a raclette aprty and loved the food but I already have a fondue set which I hardly use and OH will go mad if I buy another gadget and don't use it. Tips and opinions would be very welcome. Pam
Lesley
I have one - I brought it back from France. We do use it - mostly outside in the summer. You can cook all sorts of things in the little pans and I cook a load of new potatoes and we cook little veggies, cover them with the raclette cheese (or slices of cheddar) and tip it onto the potatoes. It is different to the fondue which we tend to do more in the winter. The top of mine is for making pancakes.

Muppet81
Thank you both for your replies. You make the raclette sound very appealing Lesley. Scrummy In French style, having read Peter Mayle's A year in Provence, we asked for a stone dining table in the garden as a wedding gift a couple of years ago. The thought of cooking outside on the raclette sounds divine that is until I remind myself the Mayle's were in Provence, you are more Southern than we are and we are 1000 feet up perched on a Yorkshire hillside. I suspect on most days we would have to nail the food to the raclette to stop it blowing away. That said, I think I am sold on the idea. E-bay here I come Pam
