Laura007 Posted January 7, 2007 Share Posted January 7, 2007 Please be wary when using bumper bits if you have a pecking or feather pulling problem. this is not to say don't use them, but DO make sure that your chickens beak is long enough for the bumper bit. we put a bumper bit on nuggett to stop her from pulling feathers out, but she had real difficulty eating and drinking as it came out such along way. her beak was just not long enough for her to cope with having it on. she couldnt pick up food or even drink with it on. we have gone for the anti peck RING whick is much better for chooks with shorter beaks. should anyone need a beak bumper, PM me and i will send you one.
