Chook n Boo Mum
That is one steep vets bill, ut as you say, its out of hours and thats how they make their moeny. I'm not sure that's the only way Lewis.......we have a lovely vet who is happy to accept calls form us at any hour, but the standard charges they make for the smallest reason can be astronomical Fortunately we don't need to go very often and have insurance on all of our hairy monsters...vital when you have a lab who doesn't look where she's running & goes straight through a barbed wire fence, ripping her belly & leg on the way Sha x
Seagazer
Ouch! As I say, my fault for bragging about not having been to the vets for so long (except boosters obviously). Thanks for the comments about the photos

I'm not sure that's the only way Lewis.......we have a lovely vet who is happy to accept calls form us at any hour, but the standard charges they make for the smallest reason can be astronomical Oh I know They charge a lot for their time, but compared to other 'professional services' they're cheap for the time they put it, so any extra out of hours they do they'll charge a premium to make it worthwhile (the vets I've been on work exp. at use VetsNow so don't deal with any out of hours). They get quite a bit of money in from prescriptons too, which is why when people ask for a prescription to get meds online, they now charge. Sorry for the waffle! Its VetsNow that our vet uses as late night cover and they use the PDSA surgery as we've now found out (taking the insurance form in). Cookie still seems to be swallowing a little oddly but is bright and happy in herself so hopefully all is well.
