Cinnamon
Can anyone recommend a good, simple book on how to knit? I used to knit a fair bit when I was much younger, but probably haven't in 30 years My Mum was a great knitter & she taught me - I even made a whole jumper once Hopefully it will be like riding a bike & will be esy for me to pick up again Ditto crochet too - never really got the hang when I was a teen, but I have more patience & time to devote to it now
Mrs Frugal
Sarah, I've just learned to knit using YouTube videos to help. There are lots of really good ones if you search. I can't follow written instructions anymore and found the videos were far easier to follow.

Goosey Lucy
I've used 2 books to help me with my crochet: Chicks with Sticks Guide to Crochet by nancy Queen and Mary Ellen O'Connell and The Knitting and crochet bible by Claire Crompton and Sue Whiting. I've also had a look at a couple of blogs: attic24 http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/teeny-tiny-flowers.html and doyoumindifiknit http://doyoumindifiknit.typepad.com/do_you_mind_if_i_knit/

ubereglu
Debbie Bliss books are good. There's a new one out at the minute which is called, 'tips for knitters' and there's another one called 'How to knit'.
