jjmack
Mildred and florence are now happily in their eglu and run. The children are very keen and are forever up and down the garden. As have said in another post OH not keen on the new chickens but is resigned. i do have to make sure I keep him sweet. One thing he was bothered about was rats. So when you talk about taking food in does that mean the pellets as well? I have taken in green and s"Ooops, word censored!"ped up some corn that was on the floor. Just trying to ensure nothing goes against the girls! Thanks Jane
Christian
Yes, best to bring the food and water in at night if you have rats. They will soon move on if there is no food.

sarahphe
we has ratty friends visiting at night after we left the girls food out one night. once they realised it was there they came back every night even when we'd moved the food so we dcided that the only way was to put a board down where the feeder is so that any food that is flicked out stays on the board and can be easily cleared away, problem solved, the rats have gone elsewhere....we do, however, now have a adorable little mouse living near the chicken house who's helping him/herself to the food during the day. lol not wise i know but you cant win them all!!
