CluckyBucks
Hello there Welcome to the forum I own two silkies which i introduced to one bantam, in my opinion silkies are: -Freindly -Lay small eggs -Go broody for ages -have wonderful personalities -Settle down quickly -Are amusing -Are cuddley And make wonderful additions to any amount of chickens I would definately reccommend them xx xx

Redwing
I'd say a couple of Silkies would fit in fine with your lot yes I my experience if given a bit of attention they make nice little birds
BeckyBoo
I had a silkie once, she was really daft to look at - but lovely. Can I just say, and it's only my opinion, but I don't think size matters an awful lot (for once! ) when mixing hens, as long as there's no giant cockerels in with tiny bantams. I've got a right old mixture and bar the ex batts and ex barn hens it's the smallest birds that are the feistiest! I'd always say if you want to mix breeds then slow introductions, same as any new hens and they should be fine BeckyBoo
madchickenlady
I have two silkies in with five pekin ladies. There has been no bullying, mainly because the pekins don't believe that the silkies are chickens! They completely ignore them! They are sweet little birds, but I suspect that their 'friendly' tag comes from their lack of intelligence. My two regularly scare each other, make themselves jump when they spot their reflection in the door, and still try to walk through the greenhouse glass
