Solitary chicken - need advice

I was sat at the desk, and the chooks were outside free ranging out in the yard. Suddenly Fern starts shouting at the top of her voice, and went screaming past the window. I thought that has to be a fox. I stuck mt head out of the window to see Bernies Corgi dog flying out of our gate with Fern in hot pursuit. I went outside, Fern came back through the gate still clucking loudly, and the dog 100yds up the road still running. Fern, the guard dog...

How lovely! I'd like one of those signs as it does warn people coming in through our back gate to expect three little cluckers to run at them demanding mealworms. However DH says it will encourage the local undesirables to nick our chickens

I love to see that, hens chasing any animal out of the garden. Fantastic. One of mine chased a cat out once and it actually pooped itself on the way out.
