Old Speckled Hen
Met DH for lunch yesterday and we sat by the side of the Kent at Staveley. Not only did we get a 10 minute fishing display from a Kingfisher but we caught sight of an otter In the middle of the day There are rumoured sightings of otters on the Kent but it's the first one DH has seen on the river in all the 28 years he has lived and worked there. Jools
How lovely, I will let our Biodiversity Team know in the Environment Agency Penrith Office, they can add it to their records. Can you pm me and give me a specific location? One of our terriers put one up near the River Duddon last week, Thursday I think. Fortunately he was on the lead (the dog, not the otter!!!) bluekarin
Oh, how lovely! I've never seen an otter, but I was out at lunch with my girly friend during the summer, in the middle of the city and there was a kingfisher just yards away from me. Beautiful.
