Cinnamon
I have just strained my Sloe Gin ready to bottle up for my Chritmas hamper. I had a small sip,for quality control purposes,& its really bitter - not enough sugar in the mix probably Does anyone know if I can add some more sugar at this stage to sweeten it up,or will that be a disaster? Old Speckled Hen
You can add as much as you like at this point. I often make the final adjustments before bottling as my MIL loves really sweet gin and I won't spoil the whole batch hic You could have a small glass for brunch .... quality control, you understand
The Dogmother
I did the same last night - bottled up 10 bottles of sloe gin, blackberry vodka and raspberry vodka. No visitor last night would have believed that i don't drink!
Cinnamon
Great, thanks. I had better pop out & get the shopping & Aubiose before I start,as I see a lot of sipping happening, just so I don't over sweeten it
theherd123
I hope you got it just right Sarah and didnt do too much quality control!
Charlottechicken
Mine was the same, it took a small amount of sugar to correct (about a dessert spoon per bottle) without it going like syrup
Cinnamon
It took 8 tablespoons into my big jar & a LOT of testing to get it right. Actually have a bit of a headache today
