littlegem
I have been reading through some of the posts regarding covering the Eglu run to prevent the snow and rain making it a mud bath. I have the winter cover which I am leaving on all the time at the moment but it makes it terribly dark in the run. As the chickens are not free ranging so much now it's so cold.......( I have to be out there with them as we have foxes living next door) I feel really sorry for them. I notice that some of you mention using a clear shower curtain but I can't believe Omlet have not come up with a clear plastic cover for the run in the winter!!!!! If any one knows where you can get something could you let me know or if I have missed any brilliant ideas in the posts already on here point me in the right direction. littlegem
Hello Try B&Q or Wilkinsons for a cheap, clear shower curtain or something like that xx xx I have looked in Wilko but I cant seem to find the thick clear plastic ones just the more flimsey ones and the are not normally clear. Will have another look though after Christmas at the moment it seems to be the only answer. Someone should invent a proper one and make a fortune!!!!!! Missus
there's a winter cover for the Eglu run. I saw it on here in the shop. I'm sure I did. I got a triangular cover with the Eglu when I got it but I know I've seen a bigger rectangular cover. Just a mo, looking for the reference code........ it's called the Eglu winter shade £19.56 I used a doubled up ground sheet from the army stores. It's dark green and looks good. It fits neatly too as there are metal eyelets so you can attach the thing to the eglu run. I used dark green chord from the army stores I know it's not clear but I fitted mine sort of just over half way so they had a section to look through
